1. Introduction to InDesign

  • discussion of the interface, panels, shortcuts and the program's workflow logic,
  • differences between printed and digital documents (e-book, interactive PDF, online catalog),
  • document settings: format, colors, margins, grids and bleeds.

2. Basics of working with text and typography

  • paragraph and character styles – creation, management and updating,
  • principles of typography in digital and printed publications,
  • importing text from Word/Google Docs – cleaning formatting,
  • text threading and overflow control.

3. Working with graphics and objects

  • formatting and embedding images: linking, export and optimization,
  • graphic frames, fitting, text wrapping, transparency,
  • preparation of photos for print and screens (RGB/CMYK),
  • working with icons, vectors and stock materials.

4. Layout and layout design

  • principles of creating a coherent page layout,
  • grids, guides, columns and modular content layout,
  • page templates – creation, application, global updates,
  • automatic page numbering, sections and tables of contents.

5. Creating professional catalogs
