Training programme

1. Efficient sorting and preparation of data for further analysis in Microsoft Excel

  • cleaning data, removing duplicates and correcting the most frequently occurring errors in statements. Participants will learn ways to quickly prepare data for further calculations and reporting,
  • splitting, combining and transforming the contents of columns using the available functions of the Excel program. The exercises will include work on real examples of business data.

2. Advanced work with formulas and functions used in daily business analyses

  • the use of logical, text, date and time functions as well as conditional functions in practical summaries. Participants will learn to combine many functions into more complex formulas,
  • the use of lookup functions and referring to data located in different tables. Among others, XLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH and modern dynamic functions will be discussed.

3. Creating flexible summaries using tables, named ranges and conditional formatting

  • transforming ordinary data ranges data into tables enabling more convenient management of large summaries. Participants will learn the principles of using structured references and automatic formula expansion,
  • designing conditional formatting rules allowing automatic highlighting of the most important values and deviations. Exercises will show the application of formatting in sales, financial and operational reports.

4. Data analysis using pivot tables and interactive reporting tools in Excel

  • creating pivot tables enabling quick summarization of large data sets data according to various criteria. Participants will learn to group, filter and compare andformation without building complicated formulas,
  • use of slicers, timelines and calculated fields to create more interactive analyses. Good practices for designing clear reports for business audiences will also be discussed.

5. Creating charts and dashboards supporting the presentation of results and decision-making

  • selecting the appropriate type of chart for the nature of the analyzed data and the purpose of the presentation. Participants will learn to avoid the most common errors reducing the readability of visualizations,
  • combining charts, pivot tables, indicators and control elements into clear dashboards. The exercises will include preparing a report enabling quick tracking of the most important business indicators.

6. Automation of data preparation and transformation using the Power Query tool

  • importing data from various files and automatically performing repetitive operations related to its preparation. Participants will learn the basic mechanisms of creating queries that can be refreshed multiple times,
  • combining, filtering, grouping i and transforming data without the need to manually perform subsequent operations. Examples of using Power Query in cyclical company reports will be shown.

7. Using artificial intelligence to create, improve and explain formulas in Excel

  • formulating commands for AI tools in order to generate a formula corresponding to a specific business problem. Participants will learn to provide the context and data structure needed to obtain the correct answer,
  • analyzing and explaining existing formulas with the help of artificial intelligence and identifying potential errors. The exercises will also show ways of simplifying overly complicated solutions.

8. Using AI for data analysis, searching for relationships, and generating business conclusions

  • asking questions regarding data and using AI to identify trends, differences and potential anomalies. Participants will practice creating prompts supporting the analysis of sales, costs, and operating results,
  • generating summaries and recommendations based on prepared statements and reports from the Excel program. The principles of verifying the correctness of answers and limiting the risk of incorrect andterpretation of data will be discussed.

9. Supporting the creation of reports and visualizations through Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools

  • using natural language to indicate the expected analyses, summaries and methods of presenting information. Participants will learn examples of using Copilot during everyday work with spreadsheets,
  • comparison of Copilot's capabilities with external language models supporting work with data. Situations in which individual solutions can provide the best results will be discussed.

10. Safe and conscious work with company data when using artificial intelligence tools

  • recognition of data confidential, personal and business, which should not be provided to unapproved AI tools. Participants will learn the basic principles of safe use of artificial andtelligence in the organization,
  • verification of results generated by AI before their use in analyses and business reports. The most common errors of language models and ways of reducing the risk of incorrect results will be discussed.

What are the prerequisites for participating in the training?

Basic Excel skills - You should be comfortable moving around a worksheet, editing cells, copying data, and using basic formatting options, so you can focus on more advanced tasks during the course.

Simple formulas and functions - You should know how to enter simple formulas and use basic functions such as SUM or IF, so you can move more easily into advanced formula building during the training.
